History
The Lorraine 40t was designed as a lighter alternative to the troubled AMX-50, it used the same oscillating turret as the AMX-50 but on a less complex hull with a piked nose much like the Russian IS-3. As well as the piked nose it was heavily influenced by German designs from later in the war much like the AMX-50 was. Just like the AMX-50 tho the need to produce such a tank was not needed due to the large amount of surplus american equipment so interested in it faded.
